Read the signs
What’s your water telling you?
Your house usually spots a water problem before you do. Here’s how to read the clues.
Spots and crusty buildup
White film on glasses and chalky rings on faucets can point to hardness. Scale can damage appliances and plumbing.
Softener + Carbon SystemSoap that won’t lather
Poor lather and stiff laundry can be hardness clues. Start with a test before choosing treatment.
Softener + Carbon SystemA chlorine taste or smell
Carbon addresses chlorine taste and odor. Chloramine needs the right media, such as the catalytic carbon upgrade.
Softener + Carbon SystemHauling home bottled water
If the family won’t drink from the tap, a drinking water system at the kitchen sink may be all you need.
Drinking water / ROFiltered water everywhere
Want softening and carbon filtration at every tap? Our usual city-water approach combines both in one tank.
Whole-home combined systemOn a well, or just not sure?
Well owners are responsible for their own water. If you don’t know what’s in yours, a test is the place to start.

How hard is Weatherford’s water?
Treatment and hardness are different questions. Treated city water can still carry dissolved minerals such as calcium and magnesium. Here’s what Weatherford’s 2024 Water Quality Report lists.
Weatherford city average
- 0–60Soft
- 61–120Moderately hard
- 121–180Hard
- >180Very hard
mg/L as calcium carbonate. Classes: U.S. Geological Survey. Value source: City of Weatherford 2024 Water Quality Report.
The City of Weatherford's 2024 Water Quality Report lists total hardness at 178 ppm as calcium carbonate (about 10.4 grains per gallon). The U.S. Geological Survey classes 121–180 mg/L as hard water.

Weatherford's city water comes mainly from Lake Weatherford in Parker County, with Benbrook Lake in Tarrant County as a secondary source.
Parker County is in the Upper Trinity Groundwater Conservation District (Hood, Montague, Parker and Wise counties). The EPA says private well owners are responsible for their own water and advises testing every year.

How hard is Weatherford’s water?
The City of Weatherford’s 2024 Water Quality Report lists total hardness at 178 ppm as calcium carbonate, about 10.4 grains per gallon. The U.S. Geological Survey classes 121–180 mg/L as hard water, so the city average sits near the top of the hard range. Your own tap can differ, which is why we test first.
How does the combined whole-home system differ from RO?
The Upright Whole-Home Softener + Carbon System combines softening resin and carbon filtration in one tank for city water. It targets hardness, chlorine taste and odor, and sediment. Under-sink reverse osmosis treats drinking and cooking water at one tap and reduces many dissolved solids. The two can work alongside each other when your water and goals support it.
How much does a water treatment system cost?
It depends on what’s in your water, how much water your household uses and which kind of system fits. We don’t publish prices because a number without a test would be a guess. After your free test, we’ll give you a clear quote for what we recommend.
